Bush clearing consists of the cutting and removal of all bushes and shrubs within the clearing width. It is important that the bushes are promptly removed from the cleared area as they will hinder the subsequent activities. Also, thorns might injure workers who sometimes are barefoot. Thorn bushes are difficult to handle for the clearing gang but a long stalk with a twig used as a hook is a most helpful implement
